Looking to sell or buy a business?

Buying and selling is an art, not a science.
Step 1: What’s the Business?
First, I ask: How does this company make cash? Is it built to last or just a house of cards? If it’s got a moat—like a killer brand or patents—and I can explain it to my buddy over a beer, I’m interested. If not, I’m out.
Step 2: Show Me the Money
Next, I dig into the numbers. Is the stock cheap compared to what it’s really worth (intrinsic value)? I tweak growth and margins to see if the price holds up. Then, I check the balance sheet—too much debt and no cash screams trouble, especially for small or risky firms. Solid finances? I’m listening.
Step 3: People and Vibes
Last, I look at who’s running it. Good track record? Smart with cash—reinvesting or buying back stock like pros? Cool. Then, what’s coming up—earnings, launches, or risks like competition? I peek at what analysts say, but I don’t blindly follow the herd.
